Meet Joe Cuccurrullo

Joe Cuccurrullo

Joe Cuccurullo for Holly Springs Town Council

Families and Community First — Our Town, Our Future, Together

Holly Springs is at an important moment — growing quickly, full of opportunity, but facing challenges that demand thoughtful, experienced leadership.

Joseph Cuccurullo is ready to serve the people of Holly Springs with the experience, energy, and commitment it deserves.

As a small business owner, public school special education teacher, and active civic leader, Joe understands the pressures facing families, the needs of our schools, and the importance of managing growth without losing the close-knit spirit that makes Holly Springs special.

Through his work as co-founder of the Resource Room Learning Center, Joe Cuccurullo has created jobs and helped hundreds of local students succeed.
Joe currently serves his community as a member of the Holly Springs Planning Board, the Land Use Advisory Council, and the Tree Advisory Committee. Over the years, he’s developed a real, working knowledge of how our town operates — and how smart planning today sets us up for success tomorrow.

Every day in the Wake County Public Schools, Joe works with families who need real solutions, not empty promises. Teaching America’s youth has sharpened his ability to manage conflict, build consensus, and lead with patience, focus, and care.

My wife, Samara, and I live the Holly Springs life every day — raising our son, attending community events, spending evenings with our neighbors, and sharing the small moments that make this town a true home.

I’m not here to make politics louder. I’m here to keep Holly Springs strong, connected, and prepared for the future — while protecting everything that makes it so special.

I’m ready to work. I’m ready to listen. I’m ready to lead. And I’d be honored to earn your trust and your vote.

– Joseph Cuccurullo
Candidate for Holly Springs Town Council 2025

A Proud Holly Springs Neighbor

For the past five years, Joe and his family have been proud to call Holly Springs home. This is where his family has built a life — as neighbors, volunteers, educators, and small business owners. Joe is running for Town Council because he believes in protecting everything that makes Holly Springs special while planning carefully for our future.

A Career Educator — Skills That Build Strong Communities

As a special education teacher in the Wake County Public School System, Joe works every day with students who face unique challenges and deserve patient, dedicated support. Teaching has strengthened my ability to:

  • Handle conflict with calm and clarity
  • Mediate complex situations
  • Collaborate with diverse personalities
  • Build consensus and trust
  • Solve problems creatively under pressure

These are not just teaching skills — they are the foundation of effective public leadership.

As a teacher, Joe sees firsthand what families in our community need, and as a Councilmember, he will bring that real-world understanding to every decision he makes.

A Small Business Owner — Building Community, Creating Opportunity

In 2015, Joe and his wife, Samara, founded the Resource Room Learning Center in Staten Island, New York. After moving to Holly Springs, they opened a second location in town in 2021, bringing individualized education services to local students and families.

At Resource Room, we believe education changes lives.

Through our work, we’ve created jobs, supported hundreds of students, and earned the community’s trust — being honored as Holly Springs Business of the Year in 2022.

I know firsthand how vital small businesses are to a thriving, resilient community.

As a business owner, I understand the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship — and I know how important it is for town leadership to create a strong, business-friendly environment where families and small businesses can succeed.

Serving Holly Springs — A Record of Leadership

Joe’s commitment to Holly Springs goes beyond the classroom and the business community. He is an active public servant on:

  • The Holly Springs Planning Board (current term through 2026)
  • The Land Use Advisory Council (current member)
  • The Tree Advisory Committee (former Planning Board representative)

Through these roles, Joe has gained hands-on experience making critical decisions about how Holly Springs grows and develops.

On the Planning Board, Joe helped guide responsible growth decisions — including supporting innovative educational projects and ensuring new developments fit the needs and character of our community.

His work has always been focused on balancing smart progress with protecting the small-town spirit that makes Holly Springs home.

Active in Our Community

Joe’s deep involvement in our Community is what motivates him to serve on the Town Council. You’ll often see Joe:

  • Coaching youth sports, mentoring young athletes in teamwork and leadership
  • Supporting local businesses through groups like the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Holly Springs Small Business Network
  • Attending local events and spending time with the families and neighbors who make Holly Springs so special

Joe and Samara are deeply connected to Holly Springs — not just professionally, but personally through the everyday life they live just like you. The Cuccurullo’s are proud to live here, raise their family here, and they care deeply about our community’s future.
